Boonton
Born in Morristown, NJ, in 1953, I grew up in Boonton as the youngest son of Frank and Ruth Boyd. I have two older brothers, the Reverend Doctor Jeffrey Boyd, an Episcopalian Minister and Psychiatrist living with his wife Maureen and son Mathew in Connecticut and John Boyd, a Doctor's Assistant living with his wife Sonja overseas in Slovenia. My mother, Ruth Boyd, also now lives in Connecticut. My father, Frank Boyd, passed away in 1990.

This is one of five houses my
father built. Photographed here just after a snow storm,
I grew up here at 510 Reservoir Dr. on the corner with
Sherman Street and across the street from the Jersey
City Reservoir woods. In later years, my room was the
window in the upper right.

This is snapshot of my son,
Christopher Ryan Boyd, taken in 1978. Chris was born,
grew up and still lives in San Antonio, Texas. He
frequently visited my parents in Boonton in his younger
years, after his mother and I were divorced.

My maternal grand-father, Wilfrid
Beech, was born in Lancaster, England. This photo with my
grand-mother, Helen Beech, was taken in 1939. Wilfrid passed
away before I was born.

This is a photo of my mother, Ruth Boyd
(still living at 94 years old) and my father, Francis

my mother's life.

As a child (that's me front and center)
we would embark on frequent long hikes in the Adirondack
Mountains. My mother says I didn't like the hiking, but I
remember it fondly now!
