Picture #48 - Choosing the right tree for Amarillo, Texas - Redwood or Sequoia?
This souvenir shop at the Chandelier Tree sold Redwood and Sequoia trees. Redwood trees along the coast are the world's tallest trees, and giant sequoia are the world's largest tree. Giant Sequoia's prefer colder climate, so we thought it might be good for Amarillo, which despite being in Texas gets cold and snowy winters. We successfully managed to carry the tree all the way back to Amarillo on our motorcycle. Now in a thousand years or so, it might overgrow our small yard and eat up our mobile home.
