Picture #5 - August 12, 2005 - Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
This is Shelly, cold and miserable in the drizzle, standing in front of the famous Old Faithful Geyser in Yellowstone on August 19, 2005. Unfortunately, just as we were riding into Yellowstone, a fierce cold front arrived. We could see it coming in, knew that it was predicted to snow that night, and therefore decided not to camp out. Rather, we headed right out the west end of the park and found a motel in the town of West Yellowstone in the great state of Montana. We saw a lot of Elk grazing on the road on the way out of the park, but we never actually stayed long enough even to see Old Faithful (behind Shelly in the photo) erupt. Bummer! You just don't know how cold we were! And this was August! But not to worry, we did see a lot of stuff as we passed by, and later we even saw a Geyser in California.
